Cardiff Branch News

(Chairman: Mr Bill Davies)

I recently travelled to Scotland with my wife on holiday on the way we stopped off and spent the evening with George Wells, he was B Coy Pay clerk in 1950-1950 George was looking very fit and wishes to be remembered to all who knew him.

On the journey back from the Highlands we called in to Aberdeen and spent a very pleasant lunch time with Andy Armstrong, he was also stationed in Waller barracks Devizes from 1949, 50 and 51. We had a long chat bringing Andy up to date with the news of people he remembered from his time in Devizes.

Back then to Blair Gowrie, where we had met up with Bill Christie and his wife Betty in April 07, meeting for the first time for 56 years. We had promised if we returned to Scotland we would call in to see Bill and Betty and so the evening before we headed over the border into England and on to Wales we spent a lovely evening with the Christies. Bill was Sgt. at Devizes 1950-1951

I am enclosing photos (click to enlarge them) of George, Andy and Bill, if anyone remembers them give me a ring and I will put you in touch.

Bill Davies
